Objectives

Objectives

The course aims to: 

  • Provide an update on recent developments in IFRSs.
  • Through case studies, give practical guidance on and resolve difficult issues companies may face in preparing/analyzing financial statements under IFRSs.

Programme

  • This is a course programme, which will comprise a mixture of lectures, questions and answer sessions, practical exercises and illustrations. Delegates will receive full course notes in English.
  • Training will be conducted in English. 

All participants will be given course materials which include: 

  • Summaries of the IFRS standards governing the issues included in the programme
  • Case Studies with solutions
  • The above materials are for use during the course and, more importantly, as a reference for participants in their day-to-day work.

Tutors

Jarosław Olszewski FCCA, CFA, CIA Senior Manager 

A graduate of the Poznań University of Economics. Has the powers of a Polish statutory auditor and international ACCA, CFA and CIA. Employed in the EY group since 1996.
The main area of ​​Jaroslaw's specialization are International Financial Reporting Standards. He has several years of coaching experience in conducting both open trainings on general issues, as well as dedicated, specialized workshops on topics arising from specific customer needs. He is the content director in the IFRS postgraduate programs implemented in cooperation with SGH both in the open formula and at the request of key mining and energy companies. In the years 2015-2017 a member of the PIBR Examination Board. 

Michał Błeszyński FCCA, CIA Manager 

A graduate of the Faculty of Computer Science and Management at the Wrocław University of Technology. He is a certified auditor, he has CIA qualifications (Certifed Internal Auditor) and is a member of ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants). For five years he worked in the audit department of Ernst & Young and was involved in auditing financial statements of mainly manufacturing companies as well as capital groups operating on the real estate market. He also participated in training new employees of the audit department in the scope of performing external audit tasks. Since 2008, he has been working as a trainer at the EY Academy of Business, where he specializes in the subject of International Financial Reporting Standards, management accounting and in internal audit.
