The basics of UX design

What is UX, and where does it come from? How to create information architecture and good user flow? How to make your solution meet the real needs of users?

User Experience design focuses on providing the recipients with the best possible product and the best experience from its use. You will learn how to navigate the myriad of methods and processes available so that the solution you create thanks to UX design is maximally tailored to the needs of the customers and users.

We will introduce you to key areas related to UX. The course is focused on bringing practical insights, while also presenting the necessary theoretical context. It is a great opportunity to ask questions to experienced designers and to get support in actual design and product work.

You will get tips on how and where to look for reliable materials that allow you to expand your knowledge in the field, as well as on how to choose the most valuable ones. The course is supplemented with best practices in the UX design industry.

  • You want to gain basic knowledge that will allow you to start working as a UX designer
  • You did a short internship or are just starting your career as a UX/UI/Product Designer (0-2 years)
  • You work in another design or organizational department closely related to UX design (e.g. PM, PO, Sales, FE)

  • Combining the world of science and business — an experimental approach
  • Why UX design has become a standard in many industries — about the values ​​of usability and accessibility

Module II: UX designers in product development

  • The process of creating digital products — waterfall and agile
  • Presentation of the design process in the iterative model Learn — Build — Measure
  • The most common tasks of UX designers at individual stages, supported by examples from real projects

Module III: UX design in practice

  • About the working environment of a designer in technology companies
  • Common problems faced by UX designers and how to solve them
  • Career in UX — how to effectively gain experience and first orders; development directions for designers
  • A handful of good practices and life hacks to accelerate professional development

Module IV: Summary and Q&A

  • Why is it worth getting more involved in UX and is it for me?
  • Q&A session — prepare your questions!

  • An introduction to the library of expanding materials prepared especially for trainees

Day 2: Practical workshops

Workshop — Designer’s Toolbox

  • Familiarization with the most necessary tools used in everyday design work
  • Individual and group work on a prepared project problem
  • Development of design artifacts such as Lean Canvas, Proto-persona, User Journey Map, Sitemap and Wireframes
  • Summary and questions
