ACCA Strategic Professional

The ACCA Strategic Professional postgraduate programme will enable you to build your career and achieve your business goals more quickly and confidently. The programme aims to develop with students the skills necessary for professionals in the modern management of any organisation. And this will be evidenced not only by a postgraduate certificate but also by an ACCA qualification – if, of course, you prepare well and pass your ACCA exams.

ACCA is one of the largest and most prestigious international organisations with 233,000 finance, accounting and management professionals in 170 countries worldwide. It has been operating since 1904.

If you fully commit and work hard, you should pass these ACCA exams in one year. It is the fastest way to become an ACCA member, and the student group is a great new way to make business contacts and motivate you to learn together.

The studies are carried out in cooperation with the programme’s Partner, EY Academy of Business, which is an affiliate of EY, a member of the so-called world’s “Big Four” audit and advisory firms. Classes are taught by trainers with many years of experience in preparing for ACCA exams.

The studies cover the issues necessary to understand and manage finance in a business of any type and size.

By participating in the ACCA Strategic Professional studies, students get a unique opportunity to work in a group and motivate each other in their studies, make new contacts and work directly with a trainer, as well as, assuming proper commitment, to prepare well for the exams.

All classes are conducted in English by experienced EY Academy of Business trainers. During the classes, students not only receive professional knowledge but also learn to apply it in practice. The trainers also teach the best exam techniques, which help you to plan your time well during the exam.

An additional benefit is the improvement of business English skills.

*Note. To sit the exam, participants must be registered on www.accaglobal.com, pay exam fees directly to ACCA and obtain exemptions or pass exams from lower levels of this qualification.

Such an obligation arises from the regulations in force in Poland regarding the independence of auditors.

The total number of 45-minute teaching hours: 198 (including examinations as part of the studies; registration for ACCA examinations and related fees remain the responsibility of the students).

The organisation of the studies

The studies last two semesters. Classes are held once or twice a month:

• Saturdays: 9:00-16:30;
• Sundays: 9:00-16:30.

Class format

All classes will be conducted in an ON-LINE format and will include an introduction to the individual issues, followed by case study analyses and exercises. During the classes, there is also a direct or indirect reference of the performed activities to the context of the participants’ functioning. Classes during the studies will be held in English, therefore candidates for the studies should be able to speak English at a minimum level C1, including vocabulary in the field of financial management and accounting.

Trainers

Martinos Martoudes – he has been with the EY Academy of Business since 1996. Martinos graduated from the University of East Anglia. He is a member of the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors). He has experience working in audit and has trained in over 15 countries in Europe and the Middle East.

Brian Connolly – author of many training programmes. Brian prepares for examinations and teaches courses in US GAAP, IFRS, and ACCA. He has been with the EY Academy of Business since 1998. He received his education at University College Dublin in Ireland. He holds three professional accountancy qualifications: chartered accountant (ACA), cost and management accountant (ACMA) and tax adviser (AITI).

Georgia Sophocleous – she provides training courses in selected subjects of the ACCA Qualification, CFA, LCCI and postgraduate programmes. Georgia graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa USA with a BA in Economics and Finance. She is a member of ACCA. Since 1998, Georgia has worked as a trainer at EY.

Maciej Kocon – consultant and trainer specialising in risk management, financial markets and financial instrument accounting. He is a graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics (majoring in finance and banking) and Aarhus School of Business (M.Sc. in Finance and International Business), as well as EDHEC Business School (Certificate in Finance).
